I really liked this book. It was a nice little bite out of, what I believe, will be an exciting series. Taken is the first book in the Rune Witch Mysteries series. There is a little ongoing romance between the two characters, but the story itself focuses on a supernatural mystery with all sorts of creatures that you will learn about. Summer and Thomas are investigators who get called in to deal with a house fairy murder, but it soon turns into something more with a few twists and turns throughout. The book is a very short read with an engaging storyline. In no time at all I was done and with an ending like that, I can’t wait for the next book!

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading paranormal romance suspense.

Excellent book. Enjoyed the characters, the story and the action. Can't wait to get the next book. Thanks for a great read.
First in the series you get to know summer and Thomas. I like them very much and look forward to reading more in the series.
Beautifully written story. Fast paced and leaves you enchanted. She has command of the language of words that draw you into the world of faeries and magic.
I just finished a British farce comedy for the local community theatre and enjoyed the nuances of speech and spellings along with the rune witch aspects. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes a little spice in their life including magic, mystery and a bit of mayhem! I’m a bit of an amateur copy editor and found no mistakes. My only complaint is that it was too short! And maybe a bit feminine although I thought Thomas and his Krav Maga (sp?) skills were of a balancing nature.
While reading I get lost in the story. I have always loved reading about magical being and places. It's my escape because while reading I become part of the story and travel to new and exciting places.
I loved the system of magic in this book, based on Welsh runes and folk tales. It was new to me and very interesting. Also loved the two main characters - Summer & Thomas make a great couple. Looking forward to more!
Taken (Rune Witch Mysteries Book 1) by Victoria DeLuis is a short book but a heck of a lot of fun in a short space. A witch and her boyfriend move to her inherited house. They don't even get to unpack when they are told of a murder of a fairy. They are supernatural PI's. They find this house fairy is in the house of an Orc. No one likes dealing with an Orc, foul, nasty creatures despite their glamour. When they get there, they find things are even more interesting then it first seems...A great mystery in a mystery. I really liked it a lot and want to read more in the series! Too bad it isn't in KU!
