There were things I loved about this book. The crazy aunt, James' assistant in her floppy slippers, his crazy neighbors and their neighborhood Christmas lights. Funny, Funny stuff.

But there were other things that made me crazy; all the miscommunication, how weak Cassie would come across. Overall I think I loved more then I hated so it makes it a good read. It was a funny, light read for the holidays, if that is what you are looking for

What a fun read! At times I found myself laughing at loud. The first couple of chapters were funny, clever and totally HOT! Cassie was a hot mess and James was the man to rescue her. I just love their "First Date". I liked James on every level.
This author knows how to read an entertaining story and this book is exactly that.
Girl works too hard in her family business...needs a date for the Christmas party...so enter the "hunk" she hires as an escort. But little does she know this is not the guy she hired but the CEO of a business that is her top competition. I know you're saying you heard it all before. But not like this one. Katie Lane can write! You will enjoy this book, I promise!
This was a great holiday read. Plenty of steam, fun storyline, and it broke a lot of romance molds, which I like. Not too much, but was unique in it's own way with keeping the same tropes that us romance readers love to devour.
I gave this book 5 stars because it satisfied all my needs for a romance novel a good plot, characters that show development through the book, a building-up of romance (rather than jumping straight to the rated-R stuff), a little rated-R stuff (rather than an overwhelming amount), and a clean happy ending. I like that this book had turns I wasn't expecting. The description of the story seems like it's giving away too much, but there were still lots of surprises and lots of comedy. I'd recommend this book to anybody that likes good quality romance (not smut or erotica). It was suggested to me by one of my favorite authors, Miss Darynda Jones.
I reading this series out of order since I read Unwrapped over a year ago and didn’t even pay attention to the fact that it was the third in a series. I’m so in love with Katie Lane’s writing and want to pick up all of her books now. I love the McPherson family and can’t wait to see what’s in store for me with Mattie’s story.
First...the cover. The hunk it the picture is very cute but if you look at his left hand you see a tan were a ring was.(LOL)They should have just got a NO hand SHOT. OK, now to the book; Cassie is the Vice President in her family's construction business. She has a tough as nails attitude because of her brothers and father. No time to date she pays for an escort to take her to the company's Christmas party. In walks James Sutton, she's thinking he is the paid escort. Turns out to be the family's biggest competitor. He plays along because he ends up liking her. The story was ok. Change the title and the guy on the cover or hide that ring finger, and have her family a little more relaxed. It would have been a great story. The whole family is tough as nails and over the top protective.
First of all; I have read several of Katie Lane's books in the past, and I have love the way she writes. Her stories are fill with quirky characters that will have you laughing out loud. She also knows how to write a sweet romance.

I loved all the emotional ups and downs between Cassie and James. IMO-I think all those ups and downs, just made their relationship that much stronger, and even more believable. I also felt every bit of the turmoil Cassie felt, when trying to choose between the love and devotion to her family, and her love for James. I also felt James pain over not only loosing his mother, but the way he suddenly felt like an outsider to his own family after his father had remarried. I have been there and done that, too.

I would have liked to see more of the Rory & Amy story, but she wrote just enough of that to make me happy. Little Gabby was so funny, she was a little sneaky and underhanded in getting her mother and Rory together. But hey, she had Rory's Auntie coaching her, and really.... what better person could she learn from? And let me say now, that Cassie's Aunt made me smile all the way through this whole story. I mean, who doesn't have an older relative who likes to meddle like her. I think we all have had one of those in our lives at one time or another, right? And if not, then let me tell you...you don't know what you're missing.

As far as Cassie hiring an escort...I can clearly see that happening. Believe it or not, some people are so involved with their work that they don't have the time, nor the patience to go looking for a date to take to local functions. Some people might just prefer that way of life, because they're not interested in starting a relation at that point in their life, for what ever reason. An escort just makes it easier on them, and besides that they don't have to worry about all the emotional crap that you get, that a real relationship involves.

And James neighbors were a real hoot, too. Especially the meddling cat lady next door and her husband. When he was trying to cut down that tree with a steak knife, I laughed so hard. I could clearly picture him under that tree with those little neighborhood boys, as well as when all the other neighbors started getting involved too. Lol! Actually that kind of thing happens in my own neighborhood all the time, so I can totally relate.

I also like that Katie writes stories with strong characters, which I relate to more then those whimpy & needy people. I also love stories with big boisterous families, and boy did she give us that in this story. I'm just hoping we get stories involving her other two brother's, Matthew, and Patrick. I would love to see these two wild cats be tamed!

Would I recommend this book? You better bet I would, in a heart beat!
